Okay so I consider 5 things important for gaining followers. In order from least to most important;
5) Desktop Theme: Everyone loves a good desktop theme, however many people only use mobile so this won’t really help you get mobile followers. I really like @acuite’s themes they look really nice and clean
4) Mobile Theme: This will be seen more than your desktop theme, as you can also find the mobile theme on the desktop version of tumblr. Focus on finding a good banner and using nice colors that work well together and make sure that it is easy to read
3) Icon: Icons pop up all over tumblr. A good icon often separates the amateur blogs from the great blogs. Make sure that your icon matches what kind of blog you have, if you’re an hp blog have an hp icon. You can never go wrong with a nice aesthetic icon either
2) Url: A good url draws people into your blog. Again, a good url separates the good blogs from the amazing ones. And again, make sure that your url reflects your blog. If you need a good url, I have a few saved ones that you can find here
1) Posts: Posts are the essance of a tumblr. It doesn’t matter how good the rest of your blog is, if you don’t have good posts you won’t get followers. Put what kind of stuff you post in the description of your blog, if you post 100% hp put that in the description and more people might follow you, if you’re multifandom warn people about it in the description. Also making your own posts helps a lot as many people now can know about your blog. If you can find things to make yourself, comment on others posts
